Tyr has some of the most badass myths associated with him. It makes me sad when people don’t take an interest in mythology because, I mean, come ON, it’s just so COOL D:

This will seem incredibly strange, but I actually have the mythological equivalent of a kink for myths about gods who lose a limb, so Tyr is basically my baby and why is he never in any modern adaptations of Norse mythology. It’s always Thor, Loki, Odin, maybe a bit of Freyja, Heimdall, and Baldr, but Tyr is really overlooked in adaptations. Hell, even Fenrir gets a lot more attention, even though Tyr’s mythology is pretty fucking intertwined with Fenrir’s. What are you doing, authors?
Musically, what does he have? An obscure metal band from the Faroe Islands and a shitty Black Sabbath album. In spite of one of the larger comic book franchises being based on Norse mythology, I think Tyr is in, like, three issues of Thor. And if his name is used for some lesser god in lore, he’s rarely maimed and even rarer important. I think the only exception is Forgotten Realms, and even that’s just because it’s such a huge entity that someone was bound to write about him.
