Don’t remember when Donkey Kong Racing was going to be a thing? Well, allow me to shed some light. Back in 2001 when Nintendo was hyping the world up for their new console, the Gamecube, they revealed Donkey Kong Racing at Spaceworld 2001. Basically, it was a Donkey Kong game developed by Rare in which DK and pals raced around on top of a bunch of animals. The game featured DK, Diddy, Taj the Genie, Tiny Kong and the ever popular, Kiddie Kong racing on top of ostriches *like Expresso*, swordfish *like Enguarde*, rhinos *like Rambi*, elephants *like Ellie* and Zingers.  While the footage shown wasn’t actual gameplay, but rather CG cutscenes or something, it still looked really cool and I myself was pretty excited since I quite like both racing games and Donkey Kong. Unfortunately, in 2002, Rare was bought out my Microsoft so production on Donkey Kong Racing was stopped. I’m not sure if Nintendo has said anything about the game since, likely not since instead we got Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast. But I’ll always be a little disappointed this particular game never got released.
