The Gnome King of Ozwas published eighty-five years ago today. While L. Frank Baum changed the spelling of “gnome” to “nome” in his Oz books, Ruth Plumly Thompson did not follow suit, hence the title. This picture shows Ruggedo confronting his successor Kaliko.
